This Lue varnish at first "brought out"
the picture well but it soon appeared to be in danger of bringing it off having cracked (for the time) visibly.
Have today taken off the varnish with slight injury to the picture. April 4th / 39
Varnished slightly with mastic and re-painted it April 9th.
A second course (slight) of Mastic given June 5th.
