This picture was painted up at once or nearly so. Cobalt in the Blue of the Sky and distance. No Meguilp used - layers of lead ground with Vandyck Brown was the only dryer - Nut Oil & Turps used to dilute the paint.

No 171 View from elevated ground  near Ryton, the village Church of Ryton occurring in the middle distance - Coventry churches in the distance. A slight dead colour was made. Sky painted with Oil, and the lower and near parts of the landscape with a moderate quantity of the white meguilp.
